Fire Retardant Fabric Coating Chemical The fire retardant fabric coating chemical shall be a water-based or solvent-based formulation designed to reduce flammability and limit flame spread on natural and synthetic fabrics. The chemical must be halogen-free, non-toxic, and meet international fire safety standards such as NFPA 701, BS 5867, and ASTM D6413. It should form a durable protective layer on fabric surfaces without significantly altering their texture, color, or breathability. The treatment must be applicable via spray, dip, or padding methods and should exhibit resistance to washing and dry cleaning when specified. The coating shall provide effective performance on cotton, polyester, nylon, and blends. It must dry within 2ï4 hours at room temperature and be fully cured in 24 hours. The product should have low VOC content, be safe for indoor use, and not release harmful fumes during fire exposure. Shelf life must be at least 12 months in sealed containers under standard storage conditions
